Steven's lesson on cutting fresh bread
I started to slice the bread, fresh from the bread maker but was smooshing it. Steven took the knife away from me to show me how it's done. Keep in mind, he just recently completed his trek, which included wood-cutting competitions. This post could be titled, "Everything I need to know about baking bread I learned at Scout Camp."

He said, "Cutting bread is like cutting wood -- don't press down, let the knife do the work.
"If you press down while cutting wood, the saw binds and catches and makes a mess of the wood. If you press down while cutting fresh bread, you smoosh the bread and make a mess of it. You gotta trust the knife to do the job for which it was made."
